The Alexander technique

The CEEGAT (Central and Eastern European Guild of Alexander-Teachers), which was founded in 2009, is the successor of the Hungarian Guild of Alexander Teachers (Az F. M. Alexander-módszer Tanárainak Magyarországi Szakmai és Érdekvédelmi Egyesülete).

The previous association exceeded its borders in the new millennium. The teachers of the Studio Alexander teacher training school started working in different countries. Now CEEGAT is present in Slovakia, Serbia and Romania and its main aim is to popularise the Alexander technique with special emphasis on the countries where there are no incorporated Alexander teachers.

Thanks to the founder and honorary chairman Magyari Beck Anna, the new generation of teachers, international workshops and conferences some new ethical and professional expectations and views were built up. Later on these had to be written down in order to create an independent and clear profile for the Alexander technique.

These processes lead to the foundation of CEEGAT that became an international organisation with an independent examination system and professional and ethical code.
